Softball Game Preview: Mohawk Warriors vs. Seneca East Tigers

Mohawk is a perfect 4-0 against Seneca East since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Warriors will square off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. The last four games Mohawk has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Mohawk didn't have quite enough to beat Wynford and fell 8-7.

Katie Woodland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Seneca East hadn't done well against Colonel Crawford recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Eagles 15-6. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mohawk has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-4 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Seneca East, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-8.

Everything went Mohawk's way against Seneca East when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Mohawk made off with a 9-0 win. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
