The Matadores fell just short of the Venice Indians by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Matadores have suffered since February 13, 2024.

Luke Armijo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.
