Softball Recap: Mission Takes a Loss

Mission has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.96 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They fell 11-7 to the Flour Bluff Hornets.

Isabella Rivera made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Breanna Longoria, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run.

Mission's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Flour Bluff, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

While Mission had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
