Football Recap: Santa Rosa Starts Season with Victory at Home

Santa Rosa gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They really took it to Varsity Opponent for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-0 victory. The Warriors pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Varsity Opponent had no chance of recovering from.

Santa Rosa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ismael Lopez, Demetrio Martinez, and Sergio Ramirez picked up one apiece. Martinez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Coming up, Santa Rosa will take on Pettus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-0 loss against The St. James Performance Academy on the 30th.
