Basketball Recap: Plainview Takes a Loss

If Plainview was riding high fresh off their 65-10 takedown of Star-Spencer last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Plainview Indians fell 56-45 to the Lone Grove Longhorns on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-43 two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Plainview still got an impressive performance from Abby Chaney, who went 9 for 15 on her way to 20 points and eight boards. Ally Brown was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Plainview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Plainview's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lone Grove, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plainview will challenge Sulphur at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Plainview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. As for Lone Grove, they will welcome Davis at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
