It was a good run, but Calvin Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Grossmont Foothillers by a score of 44-42.

Calvin Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Lapka, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Lampkins, who posted five points.

Calvin Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Grossmont, with the win, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-12.

Calvin Christian will host Escondido at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grossmont, they will venture away from home to face off against Monte Vista at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
