Baseball Game Preview: Williamsburg Wildcats vs. Fairfield Lions

The Williamsburg Wildcats will challenge the Fairfield Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Williamsburg has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Williamsburg's offense. They lost 13-0 to Dixie Heights on Saturday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Fairfield came up short against Clinton-Massie on Friday, falling 7-1.

Fairfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Matthews, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Fairfield now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Williamsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Williamsburg beat Fairfield 13-9 in their previous meeting back in April of 2019. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
