Soccer Game Preview: Foard vs. North Lincoln

The Foard Tigers will face off against the North Lincoln Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Foard came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Newton-Conover, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Foard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Newton-Conover are ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 2-2 at halftime, North Lincoln was not quite Bunker Hill's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-2.

Bryce Custer and Angel Martinez scored both of North Lincoln's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

North Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-3. As for Foard, they dropped their record down to 5-9-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
