League recap: Gilroy's Alba delivers best pitching performance from past week

Tri-County league recap: 5/21/12

Tri-County's top pitcher this week was Gilroy's Ryan Alba. He picked up zero wins and three strikeouts.

San Benito made the biggest jump in the California state rankings, moving from 178 to 128 thanks to a 2-0 record over the past week.

The Haybalers boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. San Benito has given up a mere 71 hits on the year, while striking out 98 opposing hitters. Anthony Ocampo is the leader in that category with 32 Ks on the season.

The Haybalers's Ocampo led the league in strikeouts this week with eight. With 32 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks fifth in the league.



Jose Guzman had four hits in four at bats in San Benito's 4-0 victory over Archbishop Mitty on Saturday. He also drove in five runners and scored three runs.

Guzman was an RBI machine on Saturday, as he knocked in five runs during San Benito's 4-0 win over Archbishop Mitty.
