Baseball Recap: North Newton Falls Short of Tri-County in the Playoffs

North Newton and Tri-County squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but North Newton had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered against the Cavaliers since May 12, 2022.

North Newton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rhett Fox, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Fox's first of the season.

North Newton is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17. As for Tri-County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

North Newton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tri-County, they will square off against Pioneer at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
