Softball Game Preview: West Orange-Stark Mustangs vs. Silsbee Tigers

West Orange-Stark hasn't had much luck against Silsbee recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Orange-Stark is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 21-10 to Lumberton. Even if the Mustangs couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Sha'Lynn Jones and Soleil Smith did some serious damage despite the final result: Jones scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Smith scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. London Stroud also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Silsbee suffered their biggest defeat since February 18th on Tuesday. They came up short against Little Cypress-Mauriceville, falling 10-1.

Silsbee's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for West Orange-Stark, they now have a losing record of 12-13-2.

West Orange-Stark suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Silsbee in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
