Basketball Recap: Jordin Lewis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hammond over French Settlement

Hammond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the French Settlement Lions. The Tornadoes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.

Hammond lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jordin Lewis, who posted 12 points and seven assists. Those seven assists gave him a new career-high. Broderick Peters was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points and four steals.

Hammond's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for French Settlement, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-11.

Looking ahead, Hammond will welcome Pine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for French Settlement, they will head out to challenge St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
