Basketball Recap: Eastpointe Comes Up Short

Eastpointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 62-47 to the Center Line Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Shamrocks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Panthers are ranked 159th).

TE'REZ HOLMES continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Center Line, dropping a double-double on 32 points and ten boards. The game was HOLMES's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was KAMEREN HIGGINBOTHAM, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Eastpointe now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Center Line, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastpointe will welcome Sterling Heights Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Center Line, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Mott at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Center Line's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Mott has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
