Edison falls despite strong effort from Jorja Byington

Recap: Edison Chargers vs. Port Clinton Redskins

The Edison Chargers lost against the Port Clinton Redskins back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Edison's rough 63-39 defeat to Port Clinton might stick with them for a while. Edison has struggled against Port Clinton recently, as their match on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Edison still got an impressive performance from Jorja Byington, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Byington has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Booth, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.

Edison has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Port Clinton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edison is on the road again on Thursday and plays Margaretta at 7:30 p.m. on February 15th. Margaretta is coming into the contest with eight straight wins at home, so Edison is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Port Clinton, they will head out on the road to square off against Huron at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
