Basketball Recap: Morgan Takes a Loss

Morgan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Maysville Panthers, falling 70-36. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 575th, while the Panthers are ranked 62nd).

When it comes to explaining why Morgan lost, don't look at Brylee Shannon. Despite the final result, he posted eight points.

Gator Nichols continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Maysville, going 8 of 15 en route to 30 points. Nichols' evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Landon Iden was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points.

Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Maysville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-2.

Morgan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-33 defeat against Philo on the 28th. As for Maysville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-55 victory against Sheridan on the 28th.
