Recap: Mainland Buccaneers vs. Osceola Kowboys
Even though the Osceola Kowboys scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, the Mainland Buccaneers still came out on top. Mainland took their match against Osceola 64-55. That's two games straight that Mainland has won by exactly nine points.
Mainland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kade Manley, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Manley has scored at least 25% of Mainland's points. DeAndre Newland was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Despite the defeat, Osceola saw an underclassman step up: Luke Mccrimon scored 17 points along with 3 steals. Mccrimon scored a full 30.9% of Osceola's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Fontaine, who scored 8 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Mainland and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Osceola, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mainland will take on Bishop Snyder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Osceola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Olympia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Olympia will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
