Nobody is catching Trinity when it comes to finding out which programs have long-term dominance in the commonwealth.

See two of Kentucky's most dominant programs do battle in 2014.

When it comes to naming the most dominant football program from Kentucky since MaxPreps became America's source for high school sports, there is Trinity and nobody else.

The Shamrocks have grabbed an amazing eight state titles since 2006. Add in that they have finished no worse than fourth in the computer rankings in any season and it makes quite the compelling case.

The Top 15 is not just made up of big schools. Small school programs like No. 6 Mayfield grabbed their rightful spots thanks to state title game appearances. And the wealth is spread across multiple parts of the state. Bowling Green and Mayfield represent the far south and then multiple squads in the Cincinnati area stand in contrast. Belfry in the far east is a long way from Mayfield in the far west.

Here is how the points break down:

1. 20 for a state title

2. 10 for a state championship game appearance

3. Other points are based on where a team finished in the final MaxPreps Kentucky Football Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. For example, if a team finished No. 1 overall, it would receive 25 points. If it finished 25th overall, the team would get one point. No points are awarded if the team did not finish in the Top 25.
