Softball Recap: Champion Drops Highest Score of Season Against Liberty

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Champion). They never let the Liberty Leopards get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Monday. The Golden Flashes haven't had any issues with the Leopards recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Gabrielle Gradishar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Champion got a massive performance out of Adalyn McIntosh, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sam Strock was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Champion kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Champion's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Liberty, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Champion beat the Leopards by a score of 12-0 later that day.
