Soccer Game Preview: Jackson Central Merry vs. Milan

The Jackson Central Merry Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Milan Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson Central Merry has given up an average of 3.3 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jackson Central Merry is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals two weeks ago, they were much more limited against South Gibson on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Milan made sure to put some goals up on the board against Jackson South Side on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Hawks. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Milan were the better team in the second half.

They hit Jackson South Side with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Trip Fritz (2), Luckenson Charles, and Dawson Sparks.

Milan pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four games. As for Jackson Central Merry, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
