Football Game Preview: Anthony-Harper-Chaparral vs. Independent

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Anthony-Harper-Chaparral. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Independent at 7:00 PM. Anthony-Harper-Chaparral are cruising in on a three-game winning streak while Independent are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses.

Anthony-Harper-Chaparral put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last week. They took their match against Cheney by a conclusive 42-14 score. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Anthony-Harper-Chaparral had established a 42-14 advantage.

Meanwhile, Independent have to be hurting after a devastating 14-42 loss at the hands of Belle Plaine. Independent were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-30.

Anthony-Harper-Chaparral's win lifted them to 3-0 while Independent's defeat dropped them down to 0-3. In their win, Anthony-Harper-Chaparral relied heavily on senior Jarrett Shelton, who picked up 121 yards on the ground and snatched 2 receiving TDs. Independent will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
