Baseball Game Preview: Valhalla Vikings vs. Hastings Yellow Jackets

For the second straight game, Valhalla will face off against Hastings. The Vikings will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Valhalla came up short against Hastings and fell 8-5. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Yellow Jackets: they've now lost three in a row.

For Hastings' part, the team relied heavily on Kieran McGrath, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave McGrath a new career-high. Julius Stephens was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Hastings was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Hastings' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Valhalla, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
