Basketball Recap: Walsh's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Walsh had won two straight games and Hudson Gourley did his part to make it three on Saturday. The Walsh Eagles blew past the Aguilar Wildcats 65-30 thanks in part to Gourley, who went 10 for 14 en route to 27 points and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Malone, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Gonzales, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Gonzales is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Daniel Coca also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

The victory got Walsh back to even at 4-4. As for Aguilar, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Walsh didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-33 loss against Stanton County on the 14th. Aguilar has also already played their next match (against Manzanola), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
