Neither school competes in the Florida High School Athletic Association playoffs.

TRU Prep (5-1), a first-year program, was strengthened by the transfers of top players from University (Fort Lauderdale), which had its season canceled due to COVID-19. Among the team's standouts are Clemson-bound offensive tackle Marcus Tate, linebacker Emile Amie and wide receiver Brandon Inniss, one of the country's top sophomores. TRU Prep's lone defeat was to perennial national power St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale).

The Hamilton-Chandler matchup is the regular season finale for both programs and could be a preview of the state's Open Division championship. Chandler, which is riding a 32-game win streak, claimed that title last season. Both teams are 6-0.

Chandler has at least five players who have committed to FBS programs, including quarterback Mikey Keene (UCF), running back Eli Sanders (Boise State) and linebacker Brandon Buckner (Oregon).

Hamilton, which lost 42-38 to Chandler last season, is led by top junior quarterback Nicco Marchiol.
