Baseball Recap: R.J. Reynolds Comes Up Short

R.J. Reynolds extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They came up short against the Davie War Eagles, falling 15-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the War Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-7 on Tuesday.

R.J. Reynolds saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Mosley, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Davie, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-12. Considering they have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Davie's side, Colin Harrison looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Coy James, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Davie's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 10-4 (and 0-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Krause, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
