Basketball Game Preview: Rincon/University Rangers vs. Cholla Chargers

The Rincon/University Rangers will square off against the Cholla Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cholla took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Rincon/University, who comes in off a win.

Rincon/University is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 67-36 victory over Queen Creek. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.

Rincon/University found their leader in sophomore Leila O'Dowd, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, O'Dowd is now averaging an impressive 18.6 points per game. Another player making a difference was Daphne Safo, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cholla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Walden Grove 84-9.

Rincon/University is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Cholla, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Rincon/University took their win against Cholla in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 50-24. Will Rincon/University repeat their success, or does Cholla have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
