Baseball Preview: Boone Braves vs. Lake Nona Lions

Boone and Lake Nona are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Boone Braves will be playing at home against the Lake Nona Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Boone will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.

Last Thursday, Boone earned a 9-4 victory over University.

Kaiden Krak tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Boone's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luis Romero, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

Meanwhile, Lake Nona can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Calvert Hall. The victory was just what Lake Nona needed coming off of a 7-0 defeat in their prior match.

Boone's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Lake Nona, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
