The Mountain Ridge Sentinels will face off against the Bingham Miners at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Mountain Ridge barely beat Copper Hills the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sentinels were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Grizzlies on Friday. The Sentinels not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 7-1).
Ty Holmstead looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cooper Goff, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stockton Fowlks, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Mountain Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Copper Hills only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, Bingham has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.74 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They fell 12-9 to Corner Canyon. The Miners' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Jared Orullian made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bauer Jacobs, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Mountain Ridge and bumps their season record up to 13-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Bingham, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Mountain Ridge hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bingham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Mountain Ridge skirted past Bingham 8-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Sentinels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Miners turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
