Baseball Game Preview: Paramount Pirates vs. Mayfair Monsoons

The Paramount Pirates will head out to face off against the Mayfair Monsoons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Paramount is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Paramount proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 16) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Mayfair. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Luis Banuelos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nicholas MediNa was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Another player making a difference was Zack Moreno, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Paramount's record is now 19-4. As for Mayfair, their record now sits at 16-6.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Paramount has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Mayfair struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits.
