Nebraska high school football: Week 6 schedule, scores

Weekend slate headlined by No. 6 Norfolk Catholic traveling to No. 13 Battle Creek.

This week's Nebraska high school football schedule is headlined by No. 6 Norfolk Catholic (Norfolk) taking to the road to renew its rivalry with No. 13 Battle Creek.

Winners of 17 straight games going back to last season, the Knights took care of the Braves 28-7 a year ago. But traveling to Battle Creek, especially when the Braves are knocking off their opposition by more than 41 points per game, is a dangerous venture.

Both clubs have scored 40 points or more four times this fall with Battle Creek posting a pair of shutouts. The Knights are putting up nearly 44 points a game while limiting five foes to an average of 14.8 points a contest.

No. 18 Lincoln East carries four straight wins into its home battle with No. 2 Millard South (Omaha) in a big school battle Thursday. The Spartans outscored Columbus 41-14 a week ago while the Patriots, who average over 42 points a game, knocked off Lincoln North Star 57-10.



In other action, No. 8 Kearney goes to Grand Island to battle the No. 16 Islanders while Minden, who is ranked just outside of the top 25, pays a visit to No. 15 Aurora.
