Soccer Game Preview: Gilpin County vs. Flatirons Academy

While Gilpin County's victory against Nederland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Monday. Give Gilpin County's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Flatirons Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Loveland Classical.

Gilpin County pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those four contests. As for Flatirons Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
