Volleyball Game Preview: Swain County Maroon Devils vs. Hayesville Yellowjackets

The Swain County Maroon Devils will take on the Hayesville Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Swain County had just enough and edged out Summit Charter 3-2.

Swain County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 14-25, 25-21, 25-19, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Hayesville had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-20, 25-5.

Swain County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hayesville, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Swain County was able to grind out a solid victory over Hayesville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Maroon Devils repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
