Softball Recap: Wakulla Triumphs

Wakulla won the last time they faced Middleburg and things went their way on Wednesday too. The War Eagles came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the War Eagles.

Jayci Mapes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Parker Stubbs, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Cylie Long, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Wakulla's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Middleburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14.

Wakulla does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Middleburg, they will face off against Orange Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
