Softball Recap: Lake's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lake's offense. They came up short against the Choctaw Central Warriors on Thursday, falling 12-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

With the loss, Lake broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Choctaw Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Lake will take on West Harrison in a tournament on Friday. As for Choctaw Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Union at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Choctaw Central likes a good challenge.
