Baseball Recap: Troy Gets the Win

After only one run in their last game, Troy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lapwai on Thursday. The Trojans blew past the Wildcats 13-3. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Jeffrey Bollman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Bollman was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Troy got a massive performance out of Wade Moser, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Moser a new career-high. Payton Christensen was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Troy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Troy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Lapwai, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Troy beat the Wildcats by a score of 12-2 later that day.
