Basketball Recap: Bear River Bruins vs. Center Cougars
There's no place like home for Bear River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They pulled ahead with a 60-59 photo finish over the Center Cougars on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bruins: when they faced off against the Cougars back in January, they had to take a 63-53 loss.

Bear River had a senior duo take command as Dylan Donley went 9 for 19 en route to 25 points and Luke Jeffers posted eight points along with 20 boards and four blocks. That's the most rebounds Jeffers has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Smith, who scored nine points.
Despite the defeat, Center had strong showings from Andy McLear, who earned 28 points, and Tima Makovey, who put up 17 points and six boards. McLear is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played.
Bear River's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12. As for Center, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bear River will square off against Mira Loma at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
