Baseball Game Preview: Green Lake/Princeton Tigersharks vs. Montello Hilltoppers

Green Lake/Princeton has gone a perfect 10-0 against Montello recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Tigersharks will head out to challenge the Hilltoppers at 5:00 p.m. Green Lake/Princeton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Green Lake/Princeton got the win against Lourdes/Valley Christian by a conclusive 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigersharks.

Drake Westfield made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Westfield was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aidan Luepke was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Green Lake/Princeton is 3-1 when Luepke posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Jamison Luepke was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Montello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Peshtigo.

The victory got Green Lake/Princeton back to even at 6-6. As for Montello, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything went Green Lake/Princeton's way against Montello in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Green Lake/Princeton made off with a 21-2 win. Will the Tigersharks repeat their success, or do the Hilltoppers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
