Recap: Crosbyton Chiefs vs. Springlake-Earth Wolverines
On Thursday, Crosbyton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Springlake-Earth, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Crosbyton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 762nd, while Springlake-Earth is ranked 365th).
When it comes to explaining why Springlake-Earth lost, one person who can't be blamed is jj jaramillo. Despite the final result, he scored 31 points along with 3 steals. The match was jaramillo's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Kaleb Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Crosbyton's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Springlake-Earth, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Crosbyton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lockney at 6:00 p.m. Springlake-Earth will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Bovina at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. Bovina is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
