Preview: Wells Raiders vs. Farragut Admirals
The Wells Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Farragut Admirals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Wells focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Wells was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 36-30 to Disney II. Wells has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ryniaa Williams, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Arianny Monserratt was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Farragut had to suffer through a rough 54-17 loss at the hands of Chicago Marshall. Farragut was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-10.
Wells has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Farragut, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Wells took their victory against Farragut when the teams last played back in January of 2019 by a conclusive 48-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wells since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
