Softball Game Preview: Woodward Academy War Eagles vs. St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions

Woodward Academy hasn't had much luck against St. Pius X Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The War Eagles will host the Golden Lions at 5:00 p.m. Woodward Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Woodward Academy managed to slip by Westminster the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The War Eagles lost 16-7 to the Wildcats on Monday. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked the War Eagles' highest-scoring contest to date.

Kaitlyn Weeks made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those runs were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maya Hatch, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, St. Pius X Catholic was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They came up short against Prince Avenue Christian, falling 10-1.

St. Pius X Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Woodward Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
