Soccer Game Preview: Clairemont vs. Kearny

The Clairemont Chieftains are taking a road trip to face off against the Kearny Komets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kearny will have to contend with a Clairemont team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since January 8. Clairemont and Mission Bay finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Thursday. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Chieftains' first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, Kearny waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Centurions. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Komets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Centurions are ranked 85th).

Clairemont's draw makes their record 3-11-1 this season. As for Kearny, their record now sits at 7-4-3.

Clairemont suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Kearny in their previous matchup back in January. Can Clairemont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
