Basketball Recap: Villanova Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against Newbury Park Adventist

Villanova Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 55-44 to the Newbury Park Adventist Gators. One positive for the Wildcats, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Villanova Prep lost, don't look at Carlos Maida. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points. The dominant performance gave Maida a new career-high in points. Levi Burden Hahn was another key player, putting up nine points.

Villanova Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Newbury Park Adventist, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Villanova Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-61 defeat against Hueneme on the 13th. As for Newbury Park Adventist, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-30 win against San Fernando Valley Academy on the 13th.
