Volleyball Recap: Watauga Beats Kings Mountain for Their 27th Straight Victory

Watauga had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Kings Mountain Mountaineers 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on 27 straight.

While Watauga might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Kings Mountain scored at least nine points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 15-9.

It was another big night for Caroline Childers, who had 33 digs and two aces. What's more, she racked up six assists, the most she's had since back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Kings Mountain still got an impressive performance from Ava Tipton, who had 21 digs.

Watauga's victory bumped their record up to 27-1. As for Kings Mountain, their defeat ended a ten-match streak of away wins and brought them to 33-2.

Looking ahead, Watauga will be playing in front of their home fans against J.H. Rose at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kings Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
