Destrehan entered their tilt with Ponchatoula on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They beat the Ponchatoula Green Wave by a goal, winning 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Green Wave are ranked 15th).

Destrehan pushed their record up to 5-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Ponchatoula, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Destrehan challenge the Covenant Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ponchatoula, they will head out on the road to challenge East Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
