Baseball Recap: Maurepas Takes a Loss

Maurepas suffered their biggest defeat since April 12, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 9-3 to the Holden Rockets. The Wolves have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Noah Dugas and Alex Aime did some serious damage despite the final result: Dugas scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Aime scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Aime has become a key player for Maurepas: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-11 otherwise.

Maurepas' loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Holden, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maurepas will challenge St. Martin's Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holden, they will face off against Northshore at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Rockets surely won't give up without a fight.
