Basketball Game Preview: El Cerrito Gauchos vs. American Canyon Wolves

El Cerrito is on a eight-game streak of home wins, while American Canyon is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The El Cerrito Gauchos will host the American Canyon Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in El Cerrito's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 matchups.

Last Saturday, El Cerrito sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-66 victory over Swett. The Gauchos haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Cerrito to victory, but perhaps none more so than Omolade Olateju, who posted 17 points. Cannon Jenkins was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Meanwhile, American Canyon came up short against Casa Grande on Saturday and fell 54-42.

American Canyon now has a losing record of 14-15. As for El Cerrito, their victory bumped their record up to 21-7.

El Cerrito was dealt a bruising 69-34 loss at the hands of American Canyon in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point El Cerrito was down 40-18.
