Soccer Game Preview: Provo vs. Timpanogos

The Provo Bulldogs will face off against the Timpanogos Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Provo's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Provo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They skirted past Mountain View 2-1. The victory continues a trend for Provo in their matchups with Mountain View: they've now won three in a row.

Matt Hodges and Jared Cortes scored both of Provo's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, Timpanogos kept a clean sheet against Summit Academy on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 8-0 win. That eight-goal margin sets a new team best for Timpanogos this season.

Something new happened on Monday as Player #62 saw his first action of the season, playing 12 minutes against Summit Academy. Player #62 made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist and four steals A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Provo's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Timpanogos, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Provo came up short against Timpanogos in their previous meeting back in April, falling 2-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
