Game recap: Riverside High School Football Team takes down University School

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Riverside (Painesville, Ohio) saw its 19-point lead dwindle to five, but still managed to hang on and beat University School (Hunting Valley, Ohio) 40-35 on Saturday.

After nabbing the lead on a touchdown, the Preppers went into halftime with a 34-20 lead. The Beavers scored the winning points with a touchdown run that came in the first quarter.

Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 14 entering the fourth.

The victory will ease some of the sting of Riverside's close 24-20 loss to University School last season.



The loss comes after University School defeated Lakeside 30-20 last week.

Riverside (5-2) goes up against Chardon in a Premier game matchup next week, while University School (1-6) locks horns with North also in a Premier game.
