Softball Recap: Lincoln County Extends Home Winning Streak to 21

There's no place like home for Lincoln County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Sissonville Indians on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-2 on April 2nd.

Arien Cooper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Lincoln County got a massive performance out of Jillian Starcher, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and five RBI. That's the most stolen bases Starcher has posted over her last 12 matches. Lacy Harper was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Lincoln County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Lincoln County's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average this season. As for Sissonville, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-12.
