Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Central Valley

There's no place like home for Central Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Union Lancers on Thursday, sneaking past 4-2. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 6-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Nicholas Dominguez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Central Valley is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Fernando Dominguez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Central Valley pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for East Union, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Coming up, Central Valley will face off against Gregori at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Gregori's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for East Union, they will take on Escalon at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
