Soccer Recap: Huntley's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Huntley put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Hononegah Indians. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Huntley's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Hononegah are ranked 158th).

Huntley's one-goal win came courtesy of Allen Williams, which was the first he's scored this season.

Huntley's win bumped their record up to 5-0-2. As for Hononegah, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huntley will host Crystal Lake South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crystal Lake South's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hononegah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Guilford's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Hononegah's offense will have their work cut out for them.
